ive slotted a sbc into my 38 pu .also fitted a new aluminum rad to cool the v8.new rad is thicker,purchased from PRC RADS.question,what have u guys with v8 fitted do for a bottom hose.outlet on rad is 1 1/2,inlet on waterpump is 1 3/4 inch

PRC stainless tubes come with the reducing bushings to make it work.

no idea about what's available in Ireland, but auto parts stores here can get rad hose bushing adapters to suit any size difference

i have seen the adapters advertised.im trying to find a hose that will fit

you just need to find the length needed [use a piece of stiff wire shaped to the space] and get a hose of the larger size [1.75"], then get the adapter to bring one end down as required - likely you'll be getting one of the 'corrugated' flexible type, rather than finding one pre-shaped to your unique application

Start here. Then, figure out what length you need. Grab the number. Then find a parts warehouse that will ship to you. Summit Racing, Rock Auto, etc.

i found a flexible hose that will do the job advertised.a friend ordered one for his 54 pu with v8.viewed it fitted today said it fitted like a dream so im ordering one tomorrow for my truck.similar to the green stripe one advertised by speedway motors

if you run into this again, I had this problem with my 390 galaxie, I used another hose (about 3 inches worth) as a sleeve inside the larger hose.

check out dayco rad. hose # DL7127M 1 3/4 X 1 1/2

searched that # without success.DL7127M WHERE CAN I GET THAT

herriot...what I did when trying to get hoses for my 49 was to get coat hangers or a stiff piece of wire and cut those to the lengths you need and bend to the configuration you need as well. also note the sizes of the ends you need....then I went to autozone and the guys at the counter let me go to the back and spend some time with the hoses...for the bottom I ended up buying a much larger hose and cutting just the portion out that I needed....found the bottom hose at autozone and top at o'reillys.....hope this helps................whid
