hi guys,
I want to tuneup the 'ol 1950 3100. I have the 1950 shop manual, however, the old boy has a 1956, 235 engine in it. would the tune up specs necessarily be those for the 1956 model, or might there be a different year distributor in it--how to know? and where to find the specs? I did find online the 1956 supplement to the 1955 shop manual, but it didn't have all the specs listed--I wonder if that means that they didn't change from 1955 and those are the ones to use. i'm looking for gaps, dwell, timing, compression. any thoughts appreciated. thanks.

thanks guys. no where could I find what the dwell is supposed to be for .019 (new) and .016 (used)points (the tuneup manual reference seems to be referring to v8s). anyone know?

30-34 degrees dwell?

this chart shows 28-35 for dwell (some of the dwell angles in this chart seem to be odd - 38-45 in 53/54?
