I've got two wires coming off of the generator to the regulator, and one big fat one going from the regulator to the ammeter.
Also, what color is usually used from the ammeter to the Starter/Battery?
I'm getting ready to rewire my charging system and I'd like to do it more or less correctly. | | |

According to my Shop Manual, the colors going to the regulator are "Natural Red Tracer" and "Natural Black Tracer". I'm not using cloth insulated wire on the truck, which severly limits my options for natural-colored wire. Is there a modern "Standard" that everyone uses when they use modern wire? | | |

On the TF's the armeture wire is brown instead of black. Again, modern cars use similar color coding for the wiring to the regulator.
