I just installed my new LED taillights that I got from The Truck Stop....man, or these ever sweeeeet!!! What a difference!

These are direct replacements for the stock plastic red lense and have the LED's built right in them. Simply hook-up the wires and go...I didn't even have to change my flasher since I kept the front stock signals.

I have always worried about being rear-endend on my driver.....no more turn hand signals while it is raining or in the dead of winter..

these things are BRIGHT...in fact, they will hurt your eyes if you get too close when looking at them!!

Did the same thing. Have 39 ford lights on the back of my 62, best thing I ever did.

I bought them from The Truck Stop but I don't think their website catalog is up and running yet. Chev's of the 40's have them on their website. They were a few bucks cheaper at The Truck Stop, $52 less shipping.

What will it cost you to replace the bulbs?

I had the LED bedroll tail lights and they kept partially burning out with NO way of replacement; you had to buy a whole new unit. I finally cursed them and replaced them with stainless plugs.

I wouldn't mind having brighter brake lights, but if these things are going to have constant partial burnouts and then cost an arm and a leg to replace, I'm not interested -- what do you think?

I didn't know that these LED's were prone to partial burnouts....I sure hope not. I thought that was one of their stregnths. I had heard others had problems with the bedroll lights. I know mine look extremely well made and hope they last a long time!!!

I've got those bed roll lights and havn't installed them yet. If they burn out I plan on trying to get them warrantied and replaced free from the vendor or manufacturer. I'm curious... did you try to get them to stand behind their product?

to expensive and they burn out. Just look at the new LED traffic lights. I see them with burned out LED's all the time. Some of them burn out in groups which leads me to believe that the ciruit boards are not up to snuff.

I'm more concerned about being hit by a kid or a woman on the cell phone, riding my butt, especially when I'm on my Harley. All the lights in Vegas won't make people pay attention.

It seems that it doesn't make a difference how bright the brake lights are, most people today have gotten used to looking for the 3rd brake lamp that they don't even pay attention to the tail lamps anymore. I tried halogen's to get brighter tail lamps, while they were brighter, i still had people getting on my bumper when i had to stop or slow down. I put in a Technostalgia kit after the halogens burnt out, still have the same problem. The funny thing about it is that I didn't do anything wrong, and the person who wasn't paying attention will give ME a dirty look like it was my fault that they wasn't driving resposibly. I stopped worring about it, I know that my 'Bolt will survive a bump in the butt better than the plastic things that they call frontends on modern cars.

All you need to do to see the true nature of the human animal is drive down the highway. It's not pretty. They will kill you then drive on like nothing happened.

After reading Alan's notes previously, I opted not to get the LEDs I was thinking about. I did, however, get the new bed roll reflectors now available from Mar-K. I just installed them yesterday. They do look better than the old stainless plugs (used them to plug the rolls at the front of the bed).

I'm very happy with the quality and the look but they are a bit pricey--$30 a set.

MIne are about a year old with no burnouts

They were very curtious with me, I must admit. After first buying them, one filled up with water the first time it rained ... I called them and they sent me a replacement. 3 months later, it happened again and they replaced another one for me. But when I complained about burn outs, they just ignored me completely.

I don't want to be pickey, but it sounds like you are the cause of the problem. After they leaked the second time, shouldn't you have taken steps to prevent the third time? water surely would affect the bulb life.

I guess you didn't notice that I said they replaced the second one ... but when burnouts happened (no rain getting in these), they wouldn't respond.

oops MY mistake. I however have had excellent luck. and most otr truckers are using them as are a lot of traffic lights.
