Hi - I'm just trying to get my heater back on line.
I have a 37 gmc 1/2 ton. The heater in it has eaton stamped on the back and no other markers - it's a three door model with two doors that open sideways and a bottom door that opens up.
My questions:
Could this possibly be the dealer installed heater? I know chevy trucks had badging on their heater.
What have people used to repaint the heater fins?

in Canada I'd suspect that's an aftermarket item from a well known defunct department store
the cheaper dealer installed heater would more commonly have had a GM logo rather than Chev, and would have been made by Harrison .... you'd use a high temp flat black paint on the core, same as a radiator, but as it's hidden and likely copper, the best thing would be to just clean it up and leave it unpainted

doesn't look GM truck to me, too square, and the controls I've seen from then were paddle switches

I'd say it's aftermarket but that's not to say it's not 'correct' for the truck. A large percentage of trucks in that era had aftermarket heaters. I imagine they were a lot cheaper than a dealer installed one.
