This is on a '48 1 ton.
The replacement mounting bracket has four holes while the knee action has 2, do any of the holes line up? If not, what is the best method to make sure the top mounting bracket is in the right location?

If you attach the lower mounts and tighten them the top will almost fall into place.
It would be nice if you had a 1950-54 truck next to you to see them mounted.
I could take some pictures of some installed if you would like.

Once I tighten the lower mounts, that will give me the angle that I need to achieve. Is the upper bracket just centered on the frame at that angle? Is the spring under any type of compression at this stage, assuming the axle is not bearing any weight?

His is a 3600 I have never done the conversion.
