I did check around the master cylinder and didn't find what I was looking for. I'll look again to make sure...

i have the same year truck. the brake light switch is located on the firewall close to the footboard bend, between the brake and clutch arms. it is a small oval box with a metal arm against the brake arm. look down and peek around the steering mast and you will see it. good luck.
