There are 8 nuts you have to remove
4 in the rear near the gas tank

And 4 in the front of the seat riser.

You do not have to separate the frame to get it out of the truck

If you are just looking to pull the frame there is a bolt holding it on all four corners to the track. If you look in the small hole where the cable attaches to the track you need to remove those as well (one on each side). That should be it. Once the frame is out you can remove the tracks as described in the previous posts.

jer3545 says thanks for all the great response on getting my seat out. I am a newbe .I have been here for several months but lost my password until last night and my old brain kicked in and whala! I have a 49 chevy farm truck with a 9ft bed .Its in great shape .I am working on getting it to run .I installed new plugs , rad. hoses, carb. and fuel pump . I have had bad gas ,along with crud in the bottom of the tank so I am removing the gas tank to clean it out .Then I will put good gas in it with a pre fuel pump filter and see If it will then start. It had run real good two years ago. It has a 54 chevy 6 . So that's my story for now.
