When did Chevrolet start using clutch head screws on cars and trucks and when did they stop?

It will be interesting to see what documentation people post. Here is a write-up with only a little documentation.

When I tried to buy clutch head screw drivers at O'Rielly, I was told I was an idiot for using trailer home screws on a classic. Bought my drivers at Napa smile

30's to the 60's GM used clutch screws, apparently primarily on the trucks

twotone, My experience with O'Reillys is, they have never seen a distributor, ignition points or a carburetor. (Ask them for a dashpot!) How could they know about GM clutch head fasteners???? I did learn something today; I did not know clutch heads were common on mobile homes!

FYI clutch heads were used on trailers and campers through the '90s.
RV dealers are a great place to get screwdrivers and bits for clutch heads.
Not a good place to find replacement screws since they are all sheet metal type.

I've never seen them on Canadian trucks. Do they have them out your way Bill?

not on CDN trucks Curt, but then the US trucks didn't have any Robertson screws either grin
