Will a 216 intake/exhaust manifold work on a 235 block? The exhaust ports seem to match to the block but the intake ports are smaller. Using 216 aligning sleeves allows the intake to bolt on, but will it leak?

There are also machined adapter sleeves available. The can be used 216 to 235 or the reverse. I've seen some on EBay and on the Inliners web site cncdude makes them.

Larrowe & Sons makes/made an adapter ring for between the 216 intake the later 235 head (and vice-versa, I'd guess) with larger ports.

Their on-line catalog does not work.

Thanks for the info on manifolds adapters. Tried Larrows and Sons, but they must be out of business. Phone is disconnected. Will keep looking around for someone who makes the adapter or go with straight 235 pieces and sell my 216 offy 2 barrel manifold.

If you do get a set I recommend measuring them. I had to dress mine down as they were just a bit to thick.

On another note my truck did not use any port rings probably from 1973 to 2010.

Had an interesting experience yesterday when a rat rod powered by a I-250 pulled up beside me at a traffic light. I hollered over at the guy and he said it was turbo'd. Had an auto tranny and ran strong on take off. I always get a kick out of seeing folks use a GM inline in anything. (or F*&d or Chrysler or even a Hercules or Hudson) Just love Inliners.
