I have '59 Apache that I'm restoring. The wiper motor is electric. I want to replace it with a modern electric motor. All that I've found say I must have the old style vacuum wiper arms and transmission that I don't have. Is there a conversion for the stock electric wiper moter?

It's confuseing. I just put one on my 56 to replace the vacuum wipers. The catalog listed it for that purpose but the box said for replace ment of an original electric motor. I was skeptical but it fit perfect.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

the 58/9 wipers and trans/arms are different than the 55.2-57 [vacuum as well as electric], AFAIK there are no modern replacement motors that are specific to 58/9 that had original electric wipers, but you should be able to find the vacuum arm parts via the parts wanted here, or maybe from a vendor like Jim Carter who has a fair stock of used parts available, might give them a call
