Hi again guys:

I'm wanting to get rid of the gargantuan checker-plate rear bumper on my '62 C10 fleet-side. I'm having a tough time finding the smaller, sportier bumper that was an option. Has anyone else used a bumper from a later truck? I'm planning to paint it, so can do a bit of modification work if required.

Any advice?

Thanks!!

Glen

Funny you mention this. I saw a '70 today with the sport rear bumper, nice piece.

The 67-72's should work also.

They are hard to find especially if you are looking for originals. I bought an original sport bumper for my '65 step-side from RJ here on the forum. I have also bought parts from Tony who has already posted on this thread. There are other guys too on the forum and on Craig's List who sell parts. Good luck.

Just as a heads up: I've read numerous threads where fellas complained that the new "repop" bumpers are thinner than the originals, and that the chrome versions tend to rust prematurely.
Following Cape65C20 suggestion of buying a OEM used bumper is probably your best bet thumbs_up

Sorry I missed our post Ron. I just purchased on from LMC. It does seem a bit light, but I'm painting it, so we'll see how it stands up.

Thanks for all the responses guys!

Glen
