Hey everyone, I have a question, I have a 48 suburban with a clam shell rear door with the guide R13 retractable tail light, I have the opportunity to purchase the same tail light but with a round backup light attached to the right of it. Does anyone know about this light and is it correct!

My guess is that you have a R13 light and a B31 back up light attached to it. Back up lights attached to the R13 were only available for the station wagons. I have the same set-up that I will be using on my 48 Suburban. The station wagon light is the same, the base and rod/rod bracket are different. The Suburban base is round and the rod bracket is longer. The rod is bent differently. I would not pass up this light even if it is for a station wagon, finding a base and components may be hard to find, but not impossible. The R13 and B31 combination is harder to find.

I agree with Gmoniz on that.
The fact that the Guide B-31 back up lamp is on the Guide R-13 tail lamp leads me to believe that it is not the correct Suburban tail lamp assembly but, sounds more like the station wagon tail lamp assembly.

Thanks, I was looking for a picture like yours. That is a station wagon taillight mounted on a suburban, notice the square shape base.

Awesome news guys, I've purched 2 of these lights, one has the B13 on the left and the other has the B13 on the right. I'm not sure how to post photos but they are in awesome condition. Thank you for the information.

I have a 46 and am missing the upper clam shell hinges.. Any chance You could send me pictures of yours and maybe I could make them..
