There must be a passage in the gasket to allow vacuum to get to this hole. You say "new" carb. It probably is a rebuilt or reman. Most of the time they are not right. You need to check the float level & make sure the power valve is working correctly. Its possible it has the wrong size main jet in it. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | | Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 306 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 306 | The float is fine, i dont know about the jets? I did use the base gasket with small ports that came with carb, i have 2 carbs form rock auto, they sent me 2 . I need to send 1 back after i get it running, ,,1 carb had 2 gaskets they said it was due to maybe being warped, but they are checked out on the bench, but i went with the one with 1 gasket, i guess i could get the jet from my origianal carb i changed for other reasons , so it mighthave the right jet
Thanks
