The engine ran for about 1 minute before I caught the leak and shut it down. Aside from getting a new pump Im really concerned about gas getting into the oil thru the pump body somehow?? The oil does NOT show signs of contamination such as an increase in oil level or a gas smell in the oil. Can gas get into the oil thru the pump?? | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 Extreme Gabster | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 | Yes it can. I doubt if enough would get into it in one minute to make a difference though. | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 119 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: May 2005 Posts: 119 | Yeah, that was happening on our old big air compressor, and I was wondering why the oil was getting so high on the dip stick, definitely gas got in the oil. New fuel pump and I changed oil.
