For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 122 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 122 | Installed a new fuel pump on my recently rebuilt 261 and after starting the engine noticed that gas was streaming out of the small vent hole on the bottom half of the pump body. The engine ran for about 1 minute before I caught the leak and shut it down. Aside from getting a new pump Im really concerned about gas getting into the oil thru the pump body somehow?? The oil does NOT show signs of contamination such as an increase in oil level or a gas smell in the oil. Can gas get into the oil thru the pump?? | | |
