Recommend going to you local auto glass shop and have them seal it. I have used an asphalt sealer in a caulking gun with success in the past. Rainfall here is light, not like Glens Falls, so you may be best served letting the pros do it.

Your best bet is to find a butyl based compound it's non setting and non aggressive (it wont hurt your paint) I'm not sure if it's available your side of the pond but I use a product called Arbomast ,it's designed specifically for the problems you describe. Failing that,talk to your local auto glass shop,they might be able to suggest a suitable alternative.

I'd go with the buytl type or similar. For the rear window I'd pull the lock strip out,(if its the same as TF) and then use a plastic type tool to pull or pry the seal up some to inject the sealer behind it. If its fairly new paint maybe some tape around the whole area where your prying etc.
The so called experts aren't always so expert, so watch out if its something you care about and don't want ruined some how.
I have a brother with a good story about having the experts work on his car.

you need to get the sealant UNDER the rubber not just along the edges or it will leak later and start rusting in there.
