I am installing My homemade bumper on the rear of My 52-3100. But I don't know how wide it should be end to end. The rear fenders or 6'-2 1/2" outside to outside. And how low should the bumper be for best looks? Help Please. http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s260/cfgilliam/5-24-2013018.jpg

The bumper on my 49 1/2T is 70" wide measured in a straight line and NOT around the curved bumper face. That said; beauty is always in the eye of the beholder!!

No the spare is in the bed for now. But I think I would put it under the bed in front of the bumper later. I see how it might be visible under the bumper. The 70" or 71" sounds right for the width I need. For the trailer hitch I have two options a ball on top of the plate or the square hole receiver under the bumper. Is 18" from the ground to trailer tongue about standard. I guess that would determine how low the bumper would be.

Looks a bit too massive to me from the back, but that is just my opinion.

My 50 1/2 ton came with a big, heavy bumper (not as nice looking as yours). I took it off and put on a factory chrome one. Turns out all that weight in the back actually smoothed out the ride.
