Their self? My truck came with an ign key but no door key and I'm thinking of just resetting the pins in the door tumblers to match the ign. (Anti theft dealt with separately) Looking for any tips you may have. Thanks

Mag glass or bi-focals are a must, these are tiny parts. | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 Extreme Gabster | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 | Easy to do if you have the pins. '64 got lucky. If you have 4 that match it wouldn't hurt to leave one open. | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 | thanks guys, I have the equipment, and my neighbor is a locksmith so I might get lucky if I need pins. I guess I have a new project...

Was there a separate key for door and ignition or were they keyed the same originally?

The door lock should have it's code on it. | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 | so really I should key the ign to the doors which means I still need a new key...

Finding a locksmith with a code book that is over 50 years obsolete may be a problem. If you'll PM me the code number from the door I'll look up the cut to give to a locksmith. | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 | Yes, it is easier to re pin an ignition lock.
