I'm starting this posting and we'll see how long we can keep it going. If you have used your big bolt for work post a picture.

I hauled 4yrds of top soil, 2 trips. My side boards aren't high enough to much more than 2 yrds at a time.

Thats one very nice cabover Jason.
Extra good when old iron can actually do work for you and save you from shoveling and wheeling.

It is going to be a light blue with black fenders. The blue isn't a factory color but it is an art deco type color. To keep it from rusting I'm just keeping it out of the rain. Eastern Wa. is fairly dry climate. It has been in bare metal for a couple years now.

Hmm... Kinda like this thread https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=937795#Post937795

I know that there is another one that is older, but I couldn't find it through the search!

Oh... I didn't know there were prior attempts. I guess not many are working their trucks or the ongoing post is a dumb idea...

Did a haul last week for a landscaper clearing some property, she's full of trash headed to the dump tomorrow, and later this week supposed to get some railroad ties and gravel for the landscaper. Pretty sure nobody wants to see a heaping load of trash, so I'll try and get a shot or two of the stuff later this week. smile

I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things.
But thats just MY opinion!

i haul stone and coal in mine and sometimes mulch. with mulch and coal i fill it to the top of the side boards. with coal the top of the boards is 3 tons. stone on the other hand, i cant fill it all the way with stone because it would exceed my 16000 gvw. due to the hills i have to pull, i load it with no more than 4 tons. the last mile is anywhere from 1 low to 2 hi and pretty wound out.
the time stamp is 2008 and one of the first loads i hauled with it when i got it on the road legally. ive hauled with it since then. i work it moderately in the spring and fall and give it the summer off. its also my go to truck if my daily driver is not available

Where in Eastern Washington? I was going to college in Spokane when I found my 1st Stovebolt. I was driving up a county road and spotted my 1946 1.5 ton in a hayfield. The year was 1981 and I was about 15 miles south of the Canadian border outside a town called Cusik. The truck had been sitting for 7 years at this mom and pop dairy. The old man sold me that truck for $200 bucks. Battery (6 volt), points, plugs, condenser, and fresh gas put that truck on the road as my daily driver for the next 5 years! I sold it for $600 when I moved back to California. It took me 30 years to find another one. A 1941 Chevy 1.5 ton................sitting in a hay field. I've got a long ways to go, but, in my humble opinion the Art Deco Chevy's are the sharpest looking truck ever made. You're COE takes a close 2nd.

I'm in Spokane. I know Cusick well, we have a place on the Pend Orielle river in Usk which is about 2 miles south of it. Even today it wouldn't be hard to find an old farmer to sell you an art deco big bolts in this area. Might cost you $600 now.
