I now know that the Counterparts brand is not the quality I am looking for. Mine is wore beyond repair without a fair amount of welding and filling. Other posts state there are no re-manufactured units out there but thought I would ask if that may have changed. I fear purchasing an original used one from E-bay would get me another wore out unit.

Bill | | | | | Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 133 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 133 | I found a supplier on e-bay, Classic Chevy Truck Parts, that has a new repo drivers side door latch that looks and works as good as the original. I have it installed and everything is good. I do have to slam the door but after working on it I can see the door itself is not in line. It touches the cab weather strip at the top and the bottom but not in the middle unless I slam the door, then everything looks good. I am going to try to straighten the door out and that should solve my problem.
