My 1954 3100 has a condenser on the coil that I believe is to help keep static type noise out of the radio. I don't know which post of the coil it should connect to. I assume it connects to the ignition switch side and not the distributor side. Right? Also, will any condenser work? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Do you have a 12v or a 6v system? If it's a 6v setup, then you don't actually need it. If it's 12v, you do. It will help your coil last longer. | | |

ignition coil capacitor (No. 1929070) [+ term]
generator capacitor (No. 1911095)[arm term]
voltage regulator capacitor (No. 1917580) [batt term]
so it looks like, NO, any ol one won't do
prolly all unecessary if yer radio is A-1 or if you use a modern radio - they mostly got scrapped soon when any work was done on the part they're attached to
