I am trying to keep my pedal start and convert over to 12 volt with an HEI. I got the mini HEI and coil from Langdons and am not sure how or if you even can switch it. The trucks current state is just a rolling chasis and driveline. Has anyone done this and can you help/explain how it works. I have been told that you can't buy new ignition switches and the one I have was the stock one with the metal wrap to the bottom of the stock coil. I am currently just lost. Thanks for any help.

You don't need to lose your original starter pedal! I'm using the mini hei from Langdon's in my 46 pickup 261 motor works great. I kept the original 6 volt starter and floor pedal linkage as only starter trouble I've had was the solenoid. Tom sent pretty detailed sheet of instructions. States you need a #10 size wire to the new coil from ign switch, per supplied drawing. I also went with a new set of Ford 300 six ign wires. Let me know if you need any other info or help I could take dig photos if needed.

Jim,
Any pictures would be great. Did you just run a new wire from your ignition switch and how did you attatch it to the coil?
