| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 785 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 785 | When I took possession of this truck, the following 2 holes were present on the interior of the passenger side: http://s160.photobucket.com/user/st...mp;_suid=1365182467156015725481915259298The holes are 7" apart. I am curious if anyone may have some idea as to what would have been fastened in this location. My 1/2 ton '48 Chevy served as County Road department service vehicle in Mineral County, Nevada until the mid 1960's. Thanks for any insight on these mystery holes. If this truck could, I would like to be able to try and replicate what was originally fastened to those 2 holes. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 4,249 "Hey! I sound like Darth Vader!! | | "Hey! I bought it from a farmer who had been using the Suburban for moving-target practice - he would shoot at it with a shot-gun, from a distance.

It looked like a baby troll had exploded. My current project came with a lot of curtain rod hooks. Seems they hung curtains from the operator area on back. Heck, it could've been one of those deals where you help the guy get the couch in the back and end up being told to put the lotion on your skin! | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | Every Burb I've owned had Hippy Curtains/hooks. Don't come knockin...

No enclosure just two long screws through the speaker mounting holes on the sides screwed into the cab....looks very familiar....

It could be interesting to try and recreate that whole set-up...if I knew what I was looking for! I would take whatever help that I could get to look into that idea further.
