I just got it and I am trying to fix the door latches and strikers. The previous owner left me with 2 new striker plates and a LH latch. The current striker is exactly what the after market people show for 1952-55 3100s. I installed the latch with no problems however when I went to install the new striker it not fit. The top to bottom length of the mounting holes on new striker is about 1/4" longer than the mounting holes in the pillar. The recess of the striker is also deeper than the recess of the pillar. I think the strikers came from Classic Chevolet but that just a guess. I have attahed some pictures. Maybe someone can shed some light on my issue. This is always a bit of an exercise getting these to work. Lots of adjustment both hinge, striker and latches to get it right. This is the later 52' on latch. http://www.classicparts.com/1952-63-Door-Striker-Pair/productinfo/18%2D629A/#.UXQZY8u9KSM This may help reading this. http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/doors/latch_1947_51.html | | |
