#93715 12/02/2005 3:05 PM | Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 65 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 65 | Just about have the wiring harness and all acc., etc. installed and hooked up on my 51 suburban, which is converted to 12vlt and went to double check that the voltage reducer was spliced into the right line for the horn relay and found that all my terminals at regulator, starter and intrument cluster were grounded to each other (ohm meter showed continuity between these components) Not good right? Is it back to the drawing board one terminal at a time to find the grounded one(s)? | | |

This certainly isn't gospel, but my experience with this type of situation is.....it can be deceiving. If your circuits are fused properly, which they should be with a new harness, I would energize the system and see what happens.
Sometimes, you can get yourself "pre-confused" with checks of this nature. Good luck and be sure to report back on the results of your work.

Of course there will be continuity from the starter to the regulator. That is the path the electricity takes. From the starter terminal to any other hot wire should have continuity. This does not mean they are "Grounded" to each other. It means there is a wire running between them. My guess is you have no problem. | | |
