Ok I am cleaning up the wiring on my 1953 Chevy 3600 and here are my questions.

What gauge wire should I use from the coil to the distributor?

What gauge wire should I use from the coil to the ignition switch?

Thanks in advance.

I stongly suggest you replace the wiring harness. They are not complicated and run about $150 (I think??)

If you are just making a repair, here's a wiring diagram with the wire gauge on it... Its for a 55, but should answer your question...

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum

New wiring is a good upgrade for these trucks, after 60+ years it is usually pretty well shot. DMG is correct a new harness like this is what I bought.

Makes a big difference when everything works reliably.

So far so good. I bought a new battery today and popped it in and kicked it over a few times. Almost there
