Does the title on a truck let you know if the truck is a three window or a five window?

Are there other vins on the truck besides the vin on the door frame, that I could match up to the title I have for the truck? Maybe I am being to picky, I just deal with Mustangs and the vin numbers are always important. Thanks

just the door tag, no frame stamps until after 55.2 .... yes you're being too picky, an early 50's truck isn't a pony, it's a work horse, if it has a door tag that doesn't appear altered, it is what it is .... the 5 window cab was an option, along with many others and their presence can only be documented by having the original dealer/purchaser paper work

The only thing that could tell you all that is historical factory records during the assembly process. That is if they tied in such things as paint colors and number of rear windows etc with the serial or production number.
A title is just that, it is where the state issuing it takes the original factory statement of origin that proves total ownership, then destroys it and issues their title.

Most states have no title records for vehicles titled/registered before 1972 (or even later in some states).

The original-style titles (1948-55) in the four state from which I have seen old titles did not list equipment: make, year, color, body style (maybe GVW) was about it.

The only document (in those years, at least) that might show the configuration of a delivered truck (for example: 5-window option) might have been the sales-slip/contract.
