Pretty much finished this project a few weeks ago and thought I would share it here as I have been a member for awhile. Reading a lot and posting a little.

Bought it from my brother in really bad shape with a 350 and automatic in it. then tore in completely apart and started the rebuilding process.

Started life as a 1965 GMC K-10 but the cab was so bad that I found and restored a 1965 Chevy Cab, new rocker and removed all rust etc. Had to put a chevy hood, once it was primed I found a GMC hood but it was too late to go that route.

Found a Cummins 4BT in a bread van and said that will fit and put a
M5R2 ( 5 speed OD) behind it and kept the original Rockwell transfer case that leads to a Dana 44 posi in the back and a then a Dana 44 out of a 1976 Blazer up front to add disc brakes and power steering.

Couple years in the making and but I wanted a very stock looking truck with mid 50's colors. Mileage is above 25mph so it fun to drive.

Boy,does your truck bring back memories!! I had a '65 "Jimmy" 3/4-ton "Camper Special, that same color! Had a 305 V-6.with a 2-speed tranny! Top speed was about 50,got about 4-miles to the gallon, but that truck PULLED a semi out of a snowy ditch! It had TORQUE!! Nice job on the restoration! Love it!! Watched it for the 1st time on "Youtube, last night! Now I see your post! CONGRATS!!
