I have wanted to decorate my shop with vintage garage marquees and gas/oil company signs. But my pocketbook isn't full enough to cover the walls with real signs, and even the reproductions are a little pricey. So I realized one day that "hey, wait, I have a CNC machine, I can do this myself". So I did. I designed and built a customized vertical garage marquee with letters mounted and standing off 3/4". The sign is roughly 7' tall and 2' wide. Not the best picture quality. For a few hours of work and 2/3 sheet of steel, it makes a fun conversation piece and the start of more items likely to come. My next in the works is a sign that would be similar to one placed on a post or column and will have lights inside the lettering. closed his job shop he got rid of two machining centers and a
turning center. I was after him to keep one and we would put it
in the barn. I can think of about a million things that I could
reproduce for these AD's if I have a CNC. I ran/programed CMM's
for more than a decade at my last job so I figured learning the
machine language wouldn't be all that hard for me.
But, nice sign and I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to
buying the originl signs, way to expensive for a retire's
income. And even some of the nicer repo's are a bit pricy.

Mostly cut lettering, signs, etc for farm and ranch gates/entryways/etc. Decent little side gig. And fun to play with. If you ever need anything, give me a shout.
