so my 1951 3100 chevy pick up passanger side door will not open form the side. i have checked out the linkages and it seems that everything is in operating order the door does lock from the inside and when the handle from the inside is pushed to open the door the little relase does go up, but the door will not open. but from outside handle the door opens up fine. any ideas?? thanks for the help in advance

It does not take much to hang one up. If linkages are working I would guess it is a metal on metal interference. Most likely between the latch in the door and the latch on the cab. Don't know how brave you are but have someone hold the latch down from the outside, put a pillow under your shoes and give it a kick from the inside, it should pop. Tools between cab and door is not the way to go you will quickly damage the rolled edges. Good luck!

It sounds like the little release on the latch isnt releasing all the way.
Check the end of the linkage where it attaches to the latch, make sure that piece isnt bent in the direction that the rod travels to open the latch. Sometimes this happens when someone has tried to force the handle to open the door. If it is bent in this direction, it will shorten the length of travel needed to pull open the latch.
Ive seen this happen a lot on newer vehicles that couldnt be opened from inside.
