My fuel gage only reads half full when the tank is full. I've replaced the sending unit and the problem still exists. I'm running all on 6 volt. Any idea on what to do next? Thanks.

Yes, both sending units were suppose to be 6V. Is there any other way to tell if they are?

I take it that you have a good ground on the sending unit. If so, you might have to start looking at the gauge. Cecil........

If I remember correctly, if the sending unit is completely disconnected at the gauge, you should get a full tank reading. Then if this is true, connect the sending unit wire to the gauge and disconnect at the sender. If you don't get a full reading after that, the sending unit wire is shorting.

Make shure the float is not hanging up inside the tank. Take the sending unit out & hook the wires to it . Move it through it,s travel & watch the gauge.

You can check out the sender to make sure it is correct with a meter. One probe on terminal, the other to the flange, as you move it from bottom to top it should go from zero to 30 OHMS resistance. Your gauge will not read correctly unless you use a 30 OHM. sender.
