For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 29 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 29 | Greeting, Short story to go along with my truck. Purchased in 1997 from the original owner, a retired cattle rancher living in Estes Park, CO. Truck had 51,256 original miles and the rancher had kept a detailed log of all maintenance and purchases for the truck. Every thing was original and all there except the stainless steel trim. The truck had never been repainted or updated. Took me until last year to save up enough money and collect parts to start an off-the-frame restoration. Getting close now and should be in paint this month. Balboa Blue and Cameo White two-tone paint. I'm having fun (well sometimes)trying to find parts to keep it as close to original as possible. Several Stovebolt members have already provided some great help and advise to find items. Attached is a link to Photobucket.com for some pictures of the truck my wife calls "Betsy" along with a few other choice names that I won't repeat. http://s950.beta.photobucket.com/user/majwarrs/library/61%20Apacheuse password: 61Chevyapache Thanks, Steve | | | | | Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 176 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 176 | Thats a cool truck! I wish I had an indoor are to do mine, guess the drivway will have to do for now.Looking forward to seeing the progress. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 | Welcome, Steve. StraightJacket, That's not my shop in the pictures. A friend was kind enough to let me use some of this equipment to pull things apart. He will be doing the painting as he has a paint booth.
Seems I've managed to "torque off" 4-5-6 Chevy Trucks in one of my other postings, sure hope I can mend that fence. Tony has tons of knowledge and expertise that sure do help!!!

I've met Tony on two or three occasions and visited his shops. He's a good guy and knowledgeable fellow willing to help. Let him know and don't let things fester. The sooner the better. Good luck. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 137 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 137 | Welcome to Stovebolt Steve. Great pictures, that's a nice truck.
