It is a '59 Apache that I recently put a '67 250 motor out of a Chevy II in. I have the distributor and wires ready to install and was just wondering about the sparkplugs. Did they use different plugs when they went to hei or did they gap them different? I have good plugs in it now and was hoping to just regap them.

After a year they changed that to .045 where it stayed for the "High Energy" systems. Also, the first ones used an external coil and different cap. The large diameter was to prevent crossfiring between plugs. Be sure to run a new switched 12ga or larger wire from the switch.
