I was just wondering if any one else has been having any problems with CCP.
I purchased a disk brake conversion set up for my 55 a little over a month ago, and when I received it it was all wrong. 5 lug hubs instead of the 6 lugs and the brake lines were the wrong size. PLUS NO FREE T-SHIRT.. LOL
I contacted them and they said they would send out the right parts ASAP and admitted there error .
I never did received the right parts, after making numerous calls and e-mails.
I been told several different explanations like it will ship out Friday, then Monday, then it's back ordered, then it's in the machine shop etc etc etc.
After more then a month I finally put in a complant with PayPal and there going to hold payment and investigate.
Seems to me that a company that advertises in all the major car magazines would have a little bit more of a customer service response, unless there's something else going on that we are not aware of. Like going out of buisness, money problems...can't see how they can run a business this way.
Anyone have any inside information about this company would be much appreciated.
Oh and by the way I didn't have any problem with the quality of the parts ordered just that they were the wrong ones.
And to add I been very pleasent when contacting them and this is by no means to be flaming out against this company, just lookng for answers.

I have had good experiences with CCP & have spent a lot of $$$ with them over the years...

I do know that they have been in the middle of a huge move to larger quarters and that may be the reason for the bad experiences you've had...

Received an e-mail from CCP today saying my corrected order is ready to be shipped out.
I was just wondering if my complaint to PayPal had anything to do with it. Been over a month. Two days after filing a complant with PayPal and now there ready to ship. That's why I love PayPal.
Will keep you posted..

I hate Paypal. I like CPP not CCP(Russia?). Very quick to correct any problem. I also have spent many $$ with them as Squire has, he may have the reason for their delay. Good quality. Wherever we all work/have worked, we have seen customers get mad at our company. Sometimes it's our fault and sometimes not. They hate having you not happy, I'm sure. But those places (CPP, J. Carter, LMC, Brothers, American Classic, Classic Parts, POL are run buy regular people who love old vehicles and have been there a long time. I know that does not help a person who's had your trouble. But remember, they didn't argue with you or charge you, just screwed around too long and that's bad PR for sure. WOW! we have integral spell check now! I may have to donate some more. Thank you staff! (put in Paypal as acceptable)

Hope this isn't where my order is headed. I ordered the kit to intall a late model rear end into my 64' over 2 weeks ago, and still haven't heard anything. Called twice and both times got the run around. With all the money spent over the past few years, for this to come up now, makes me ready to just cut my wrist and get it over with. I've been hoping to get this task done so I can make a road trip down to the East coast next month, but if it doesn't get here soon, I'll have to put off the trip.

Boy that's knd of weird, so they didn't argue with me, so I should just let it go.
And they did charge me over 500 bucks for the parts. Well over a month and still waiting for the right parts, there no excuse for that .
I'm not mad just sharing my experience that's all.

I found them to be very slow in getting my parts shipped out, after placing an order.

OOPS, My fault thought contacting Paypal meant you were mad. Just trying to share my experience with mistakes. You ask if anyone has had problems. As I said, they were "quick to correct".

I have a '55 Series 2 that I want to put a disc conversion kit on. What did you order from CPP?

How did the install go?

I ordered the disk brake conversion kit for the front brakes, with the new hubs, and roller bearings. My truck had the 6 lug hubs and that's where the problem occurred. The hubs they sent were 5 lug. The rotors and spacers they sent were the right ones 6 lugs. The brake hoses had 10 mm fittings, again not the right ones for the 55 truck.
The items look good, but I can't tell you how the installation went because I still don't have the right parts. I ordered the parts on January 31.
oh and by the way on Feb 18 I ordered some fittings for the power brake booster from CPP, and I' m still waiting for those parts.
The Power brake booster is a CPP product but I didn't order it through them, it was a E bay purchase, from a seller "911". Shipping was fast and install went great, about a 100 dollar cheaper then buying direct from CPP. The reason I didn't buy from 911 was he didn't have the 6 lug hubs and couldn't get them. It seems like 911 sells maybe surplus items from CPP, not sure but it was new in an unopen box.

Just an update , just received another e-mail from CPP saying the part should be shipped in an day or two.
Earlier today I called and talk to a salesman and he told me the parts
would be invoiced and sent out tomorrow.
LOL it's getting to that point, unbelievable.

Why not use the original 6 lug hubs?

What are the CPP 6 lug hubs made from? Billet Aluminum?

You know I thought of that just using the stock hubs, probably would work, but I paid for the CPP hubs, and would rather go that route if I ever get them.
The 5 lug hubs they sent were aluminum, they look good, not sure how durable they are. Does anyone have any idea how they might hold up.

CPP sells a kit that is made to fit your hubs. Don't understand why anything would be at the "machine shop"??. Do they even have a machine shop? Do their vendors tell them "it's in the machine shop"? Never heard that from a mail order place.

Well I received the 6 lug hubs from CPP today and was all excited about getting them installed..
Upon trying to install the hubs I noticed that they did not fit the rotors. Hubs were to large to fit the rotors. These are the same rotors that CPP sent me earlier.
I GIVE UP!!!
I will give CPP a call tomorrow and request a full refund.

I have the cpp kit on my 59.

12 inch disc original 6 lug hubs. The disc sits on the "back side" of the hub. I'm not sure about the after market hubs.

Patience young grasshopper. It is entirely possible cpp has screwed up on your order. Many of us have been running the cpp brakes for a number of years. My only complaint about the brakes is bearing life. The instructions weren't all that good either, and some reworking of the master cylinder mounting bracket was needed for proper fit.

Once fit to your truck, and adjusted, the brakes do amazingly well. I understand your frustration. Take a deep breath, and get collected. As the saying goes... "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face!"

There are very few places to buy these from that you can trust. CPP is a good company. They all drop-ship the same kits. I have found that if you wait and look, POL has them on Ebay at a low price sometimes, with free ship, sometimes.

Just for what it's worth.
I had ordered some parts from Bowtiebits with plans on picking them up in Wichita when they came in to save on freight. Told from the beginning it would take a week to 10 days. After 3 weeks, I found that CPP was the vendor, and gave them a call. They told me my order was still on the shelves and hadn't even been picked yet, so I told them to hold the order, Then called Bowtie and told them to cancel the order. I've got things to do and places to go. I'll figure out another way to get something done. I had hoped to get the parts so that I could get the intall taken care of and be on my happy way.

These guys are pretty accurate and fast.

I think Carter is okay too. Gota watch the prices and shop around some.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.

Regarding CPP: I would like to know about the problems posted here, specifically: Did you talk to a real person? Who was it? What did they offer as an excuse. Or did you email a specific person? Whom did you email? Why is the order so screwed up? Give us some names and numbers to contact.
