Can anyone tell me if the stock 8 lug steel 16's will fit on my 55.2 3600? | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | They will physically bolt up fine, you might need a spacer on the front to clear the tie rodes, as the backspace is a bit deeper on the GMT400 trucks from what was on the '55s. However, there is a different issue you need to know about, the wheels from the '13 truck will not fit on you '94, the backspace is far too deep. If you hade a 4x4, it would work, but not on a 2wd.

Guess I'll put them back up for sale and give someone with a late model truck a chance at a great deal. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 725 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 725 | I hate to argue with anyone, but almost ANY factory wheel AFTER 1998 will NOT fit our older trucks, period. The newer wheels are 8 on 170mm, while we need 8 on 160mm or 8 on 6 1/2. Don't waste your time and money on late model wheels.
best wishes,

For many years I didn't carry an extra spare for my trailers because I could use my spare from the pickup. It wasn't very long that I discovered that my 2000 GMC spare no longer fit 7k trailer axles. My cousin who is a gmc dealer told me they had gone to metric. I trade pickups every 3 years, but I think my 2000 still had regular hubcaps which covered the bolt patern. My 2012 has the plastic nut covers and it is real obvious that the bolt pattern is different. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 45 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 45 | Well, when you need tires for your 2012 and would like some nice alloys for it look me up. Seems that Ill have a beautiful set that I cant use. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | I hate to argue with anyone, but almost ANY factory wheel AFTER 1998 will NOT fit our older trucks, period. Les That's only on Ford pickup wheels. E series vans, GM trucks, and Dodge trucks are still 8x6.5. The main problem is the deeper backspace and higher offsets that the modern wheels use.

The late model GM and Mopar trucks still use the 8x6.5 wheels as do the Ford Vans. The difference being the late models have more positive offset and are hub piloted vs. stud piloted. They also one piece, not having the welded/riveted outer ring and center flange design. A benefit to the one piece design, is the abilitly to run larger rotors and calipers.
