The shaft on the '39 is part of the gear box and doesn't come off with out a hack saw.

I have a column shift type steering column from a 78 Chevy van in mine - hooks up OK to the linkage on my TH350. Have a few Borgeson universals to route DD type steering shaft around exhaust and engine mount, and into the steering box. Have a Saginaw type PS pump with pressure reducer, feeding the M2 rack. Ignition switch is mounted in dash, but no reason you could not mount on column if you choose ( or go with one of those fancy push buttons ! ) | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 177 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 177 | i put one from a 84 reagal in my 35 truck with the column shift hooked up to a 700r4. you have to mod the shifter on the trans and play with the linkage or buy the kit from lokar | | |
