In a couple of days, I will begin putting the intake and exhaust manifolds back on my 1952, 216 engine after replacing the exhaust pipe studs. The shop manual says to clean cyl head and manifolds flanges, install new gaskets, pilot sleeves and center cap screws with clamps loosely. My question is, should I use some hi temp gasket maker or such to hold the gaskets in place while positioning the manifolds assembly or do they go on dry just as they came from the package? Also as the assembled manifolds are heavy, any other hard earned tips will be appreciated. Thank you.
