I just installed painless wires now my temp swings to hot as soon as it slightly warms up. Gauge checks out, I have 2 of them. cooling system is new and working great, I have 3 sending units, all new and all do the same. :confused:
I'm older than my truck but it's smarter than me! 66 GMC 3/4 ton fleetside 283, turbo 400.

1. Make sure the sending unit and the gauge are for the same make vehicle.
2. Not wired correctly. I suspect this one.
3. Dont use tape on sending unit. Use light paste. Needs to have ground to engine.
