The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Interiors AD seat adjuster rod

My 51 3100 does not have the seat adjuster rod that goes between the two adjuster mechanisms. The PO had placed a newer seat on top of the floor seat frame...he fortunately kept the original bench seat and all the hardware except the adjusting rod. Right now I am replacing the gas tank so I thought I would fix this issue while everythings torn apart. I did a Stovebolt search on this topic and all of the pictures that were posted are now no longer available because webshots and other servers dont allow public access now so I thought maybe this would be a good time to refresh this topic. I really just need to know how the rod is shaped at each end where it connects to the adjusters. Any pictures would help a bunch!

Thanks for the quick reply! I saw your pics in the previous postings and I have seen pics of your truck as well...all I can say is you do great work! If I zoom in as much as possible it looks like the rod goes over the top of the adjuster arm and down into the hole. If anyone has any side view shots of the rod ends or more verbal descriptions that would be very helpful too! I know the rod is just under 3/16 thick and I have a piece of stock ready to bend...I'm just hoping to get it right so it works when I'm done.

Here's a diagram of the seat rod adjuster, was going to take pictures until I saw the different bends involved so I just drew a diagram with dimensions from bend to bend, hope this helps you or anyone that might need to make one.

That's great. I was putting in my seat today and couldn't find mine. Don't really think it was there when i bought the truck. This will help a great deal. Thanks.

That is just what is needed to re-create that rod...they say a picture is worth a thousand words but in this case a diagram is the right language!
