Hello, everybody. I am in the process of swapping out the 235 in my 1961 Apache, and I've found a small snag that I need advice on. The engine I am putting back into the truck appears to be fine, and doesn't leak a drop of oil... Until I put the bell housing, clutch assy, and transmission on it. I can't figure out why, because the transmission doesn't put any stress on the pilot bearing or the rear main seal- right? When I took the transmission back off, it quit leaking. It doesn't leak much, but a few drips a minute. I guess my main question is, do I need to replace the rear main seal, or go ahead and install the engine and see what happens? My thought is that it might not be making a seal because the engine sat for a few months. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for your help! The new engine is a 57', not a 61'.
