When I took apart the rocker arm assemblies to clean and inspect, I found alot of wear on the rocker arm shafts. I presume that this is because the inner cores of the rocker arms are worn and grooved. So I started thinking about replacing the rocker arms to keep them from tearing up the new shafts. However, I cant find them anywhere...checked NAPA, Carters, Classic Parts, and even made a call to Egge's and the tech there said that they aren't made anymore. So my questions are...what do you do when rebuilding a rocker arm assembly...can the old rocker arms be resurfaced where they ride on the shaft...and has anyone recently found new ones? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | There are places like rockerarms.com that bore them out and bush them.

I'm happy with everything they have done for me. I traded with them in Torrance, CA and now they are in Anderson, CA. Same good work too.

I haven't yet decided which way to go...also found that Chev's of the 40's carries rebuilt sets in stock. I'll update with my decision and the outcome! | | |
