my 55 3100 1st series has a bracket holding a jack attached to the inner right side fender. Did they come with a jack and if so where was the handle kept. I'am also in need of the metal trim around the front windshield. Does anyone still make it? Also need a handle for the jack.

I believe on the AD trucks(47-55) it was kept in space underneath the bench seat cushion.

tc would know...

If you trust the 55-1st Specifications Manual, the tool box was described as being under the seat (50"x 19"x 6"), and the standard tools were a 2500 lb capacity jack (screw-handle/crank bottle-style), a jack handle/crank, and a wheel wrench.

I wonder where they all are now?

as I pointed out previously Denny, Tims link is actually
http://www.1954advance-design.com/Photos/Truck%20Tools/slides/11jack1.html
the viglink obfuscation is added by the forum software when you click a link here, need to highlight it and copy/paste to avoid that - which of course can't be done with a "textualized" link as Tim posted .... OTOH, that appears to have nothing to do with your problem accessing Tims site wink

"I wonder where they all are now?"
mostly gone to the smelters, like the ones I've sent off to scrap dealers, shaky ol things that they are eek

All I know is I LOVE my screw jack. So handy when the rod is chucked in the screw gun. Up down with the flip or a switch. I made a special short bolt to fit as well for up close use.
I kinda wish they made a floor jack out of one, at any rate it stay's where you set it unlike a lot of hydraulics. I use it all the time. I may keep it if I sell the truck...

Still don't understand the "jack attached to the inner right
side fender bit." What's with that???? Must have been added by
one of the previous owners. I have seen them mounted there,
i.e. on the inner skirt but I'm sure it was much later and it
might have even been on the competitors trucks.

70's Chevy trucks had them there on the passenger side. I don't remember seeing it on the 60's.

some of the 73-87's had the jack in the engine compartment.

Not sure what the model year run was on when they did it tho'. Not really a subject for the 'bolt.

The 60-66 had 'em under the driver side of the bench seat, as far as I know.
