I had it on a 10 amp charger all night (the charger read that it was putting out 5 amps). When I checked it with my volt meter this morning it only read 0.5 volts which rapidly discharged as I looked at the meter.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? | | |

I had bad luck with my Antique Auto Battery too. Got mine to charge up ok at first but it kept sweating out electrolyte at a seam on top of the battery and exposing the plates. I finally gave up and got another battery locally.
The problem with their warranty is that you don't get your money back, you get a replacement for the defective battery. I am not interested in sending it back as that's too much of a hassle (drainage, packing, shipping, buy more electrolyte to charge the replacement battery when it gets here, etc.) so I haven't contacted Antique Auto Battery with my problems. I'm not unhappy with them, just the battery. If I order from them in the future, it will be one of the sealed units. The other problem is that you either have to buy another battery locally to use or let the vehicle sit idle while you're waiting for shipping.
I'm sorry to hear of your problems with the battery. I was hoping that I was an isolated case and it was just my turn in the barrel. | | |
