I have a 1957 235 out of a Belair. I was wondering if a newer head would be more beneficital (provide better performance)? If so which year (1961? or do I need older like 1958?) ......
Current setup:
Fenton dual exhaust
Tatersfield dual intake
1937 Zenith carbs
4 spd on the floor
If I need to add more information please let me know......

Also you can use powerglide intake valves for better breathing. If you have an "1957 235 out of a Belair", it has the "848" head, and the engine has hydraulic lifters.
Also, does anyone know if only the Powerglide 235s after 1956 used those "special" valves, or, did all 1956 and later car engines (which all had hydraulic lifters) use those "special" valves?

It is not only the 1950-52 Power Glide engine that used the 1 15/16" intake valves but the 1950-52 big truck 235's also used them.
These valves show up on ebay all the time.
