When I bought my '53 model 3603, I was told the engine is a 235. However, I am having doubts. The serial number (to the left of the distributor) is LCC187587. According to the '53 specifications manual from the GM Heritage Center it is a 216. Can someone help me decipher this? Am I reading it wrong? Thanks for your help. Tom B

She's still a "beaut". My intention is to pull my vintage trailer with the truck. But, I cannot decide if I shoud replace the engine with a small V-8. Do you have any opinions? The trailer weighs about 1800 lbs.

The older these rigs get the fewer their are with the 6 still under the hood.
If you want power later 235 or 261 would fit in & look close enough that only us 'bolter freaks would know.
