For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 506 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 506 | While installing a new light switch in my 58 Suburban I noticed a small fuse on the back of the switch. I'm curious what that does. Do all the lights stop working if that fuse blows.
It got me thinking that accept for the inline fuse that came with my aftermarket TACH I don't remember seeing any fuses anywhere on the truck. I can't find a fuse panel anywhere. I don't see anything on the wiring diagram either.
Is a fuse panel/block hidden somewhere on the truck? How did they keep the trucks from burning to the ground??
Thanks
Larry

Give me ambiguity or give me something else

Is that inside a black box mounted on the firewall next to the horn relay and voltage regulator? I was wondering what that was. Never thought to see if the cover came off.
My Burb came with a radio and a heater so that may be it.
Thanks

Ok. I'll have to stand on my head and see if I can see anything under there.
Thanks

Of course, it's a bare bones truck, no radio, vacuum wipers, so my lights are the only thing that needs protected. Darren | | | | | Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 506 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 506 | I checked again on the fuse block. There isn't one anywhere under the dash. Turns out the black box on the firewall is the voltage regulator. Duh!!
My truck has a radio and a heater. I would have thought there would be a fuse box.
Anyway, I plan on buying a complete "new" wiring harness this spring. That will come with a complete fuse panel.
Thanks
Larry
