The temp gauge line has been cut.Do I need to replace the sending unit and gauge as one assembly? And if so,who sells them ? I also need an end fitting w/ferrel for the oil pressure !

There is some sort of gas in the tube and sender. I just got my new gauge from Bow Tie Bits. I had to have a longer tube to reach the sending unit hole in the head. Check around on prices and how long it will take to get it repaired or exchanged. Don't through you old one out, you will need it for a core. I found them from $75 to over $200. Joe | | |

He also had an NOS for over $100, but a used working one was more my style for well less than half that. His email is [email protected] he would be here himself but it doesn't pay to be helpful here. And he doesn't even sell any Korean wicker... Hey Marty, good to see you. Those monoleafs are great, I really like them. As soon as I finish the headwork and putting on the split exhaust I will stop by and show off my truck.

Tom-stay with the ether filled mechanical gauge. You can find ones at Jim Carter or some of the other suppliers as well as some Stovebolters. Jump on the swap page and go to parts wanted. I did that and got a spare tire carrier from Iron Chief which was super! Better than the electric one which I have 'cause I can't make the sender accurate to the electric gauge. Appreciate all the help!Hopefully I'll be able to find what I need!I got three gauge clusters with the truck but none had the complete line and sender with it!Just recieved my new bed sides,tailgate and bed wood package today, so looks like I'm going to be pretty busy!
Philip,Look forward to meeting you and your "baby" soon, do you ever go to the "cruise in" at the Manassas BurgerKing? I've been there once with my Cobra Replica last summer but look forward to cruising my "new" toy there this summer!

Look out for those State boys at Aquia Creek Still working on getting the old Geez Man ready for inspection in WV. Not that they do much of an inspection for $ 7.40. Will be doing a total brake job with new cylinders, linings and lines the weekend of 4/20 with a couple of my neighbors. Will pop a few Coronas after that job is done. All chrome is back on the truck, tailgate on, lights all installed and working. Still need to do the interior but need to fix a leaky oil pressure gauge line first which is dripping on the cab floor. Hope to have this sucker 100% ready by Memorial Day weekend. Stick a flag in the stake bed hole and head to the Dairy Queen. Summer schedule is up in the air until I see how the old boy drives and I develop a sincere sense of security. Philip, perhaps a drive in aroud Leesburg or Purcellville in late summer?? My truck will have no problem riding around the Manassas and Leesburg/Purceville areas. As a matter of fact just last summer my wife and I rode out to Middleburg and Leesburg and it was a really good drive for us. I put about 80 miles on the truck that day and felt pretty good afterwards. Let me know when you guys are ready and I'll be there. I really enjoy looking at others peoples trucks and learning new tips and tricks.

My truck will need some brake work also so I'll be intrested in how your brake work turns out and maybe you can give some pointers.

Hope to be doing the brake job this weekend if the weather cooperates. Have a couple of neighbors who are dying to get there fingers into those old drums. Spin around the block and a couple of beers afterwards and then next weekend the new bed goes in. Don't know if the West Virginia guys will pass the truck at inspection 'iffn there ain't no bed. Since I was last here...I replaced the 216 with a 235 and am finally back on the road. I'm logging many miles driving every day. Still need alot of detail work and you guessed it...my tamp and oil guages are not hooked up yet which is how I found this thread again. Tell yew what. If the weather holds maybe we can get it together at a local spot where a few AD trucks will look really out of place  Hehe. We are still in Rockville. Oh yeah, if you can tell me the NAPA fittings to buy so I can hook my temp and oil guages to the block I'd be grateful....thinking I need to use a "t" fitting for the oil?
