Well guys and gals. The first Southern Reunion is on the books for 2013. I say the "first" because we plan to have more than one this year.

Thanks to Ernie,"smokey_mtn_53", for graciously volunteering to host our very first event for this year. The event is planned for April 20th and is going to be held in Strawberry Plains, Tenn. on Saturday April 20th.

I said the "first" because we are also planning another to be held close to Mount Olive,N.C. which will be in the Fall thanks to David K.

I am also sure Brad54 will welcome us to have one, if not two, gatherings in Commerce,Ga. A few of us went last year and meet at the swap meet at the Alanta Dragway. Brad offers us free admission, swap meet, and a nice place to gather.

I realize some of our "Charter Members" of the Southern Stovebolters may not be able to make it to all the events due to distance ect. However, this is a great chance to meet and get to know other bolters in our Southern area as well as a nice trip to enjoy our trucks. If your's isn't ready and up to the trip then drive what you have!!

I will make another post to list those that sign up so Ernie will know how many to plan for. More info will be forth coming.

I might add that the Southern group also includes parts of Fl. Va. Ms. NC. SC. Tenn. Ga. and I think a tip of La.... .and anyone else that wants to come!!

Make plans now. Mark your calender. Looking forward to seeing and meeting all ya'll.

Hope things work out for Mt. Olive...I'll be there. I would also enjoy going to Commerce again. Brad makes every effort to plan a fun weekend.

What's the best way for me to stay apprised of the Mt. Olive gathering? Will there be a unique distribution list compiiled at somepoint for this event?

Greg, watch this section of the forum. I know when Alvin does his event he has a e-mail list. PM him and he may send out an update, or the host will. welcome to the forum, and Southern Bolters. Look forward to meeting you.

Gregg, over the past few years I gathered mostly bolters from around N.C. S.C. and GA. But as the group grew bigger the area has enlarged. I do have a list of about 105 names but I do not have many around the Tenn/Va area. I generally would send a PM to see if a guy would want on the list....especially since everyone didn't include their e-mail address in their profile.

Since your email addy is in your profile, and you want to be added to list consider it done. I usually send out two or three letters a year so folks that don't check the bolt often will know and be aware of what is going on.

The GabFest around Mt. Olive will probably be early fall. Like late Sept. or early Oct. Its up to the host.

..and for ALL you Southern guys. ANYTIME you want to have a gathering just post it in our forum and list it in the Events section. Peggy will give us some "air time" with a reminder on the front page about the time it happens. Anyone wanting to have one, GO FOR IT. I'll be there smile

I'm definitely gonna try to be at commerce! I haven't been able to go since it moved from the other location, although it is closer for me now. I've met Brad and he's a great guy!

Super, and as I mentioned, we can go about any time we want to. Just post a note your going and would like to get together with some bolters and send Brad a note so the ladies at the gate will know to let us in and point us in the right direction.

...and for all, remember what Peggy said, A Gabfest is/can be where TWO or MORE are gathered!!! Look forward to meeting you later this year.

I've been wondering what to do for my b-day (Apr 20). A trip to TN sounds like a pretty good idea.

I'll second that smile I'll put your name down and we can all "check in" again a couple weeks before the 20th.

....and guess what we call the 37, "ole blue" ....but I may have "big orange" at the gathering, just never know smile
