I am sure someone here can clear this up for me. Does it matter what kind of tach you run based on the type of distributor you have? I have an old 12v Sun tach I would like to use and I am planning using a hei setup and was told I cannot use this tach with the hei. Is there any truth to this? I looked in the ads for guages and it does not ask to specify if you have hei or point type ignition. As always, thanks in advance for your help..............Dale

I have a old sun tach and I switched to HEI and had no problems. Works great on my 72.
